    Study on equivalent rainfall design for short and long duration based on the effect of waterlogging prevention and control

    • The short duration rainfall design standard used in pipeline design and the long duration rainfall design standard used in regional waterlogging prevention and control have troubled many drainage workers. On the basis of comprehensive analysis of various drainage system design standard connection methods carried out at home and abroad, combined with the essential requirement of regional waterlogging control, this study constructs a connection method for long and short-term rainfall design standards based on the effect of waterlogging prevention and control. Taking the Dizhan area in Nanping, Fujian as the research object, numerical analysis, model simulation and other methods are used to conduct equivalent research on long and short-term rainfall design standards. The research results indicate that when the design return period of drainage pipelines in the area is 1 year, 2 years, 3 years, and 5 years, the regional flood prevention and control standards are between 5 to 10 years, 10 to 20 years, 20 to 30 years, and 50 to 100 years. The research results can provide technical support for urban waterlogging prevention and drainage system design.
