Discussion on drought prevention and reduction capacity building in Guangdong Province from the survey of flood and drought disaster risk

Under the context of global warming, extreme climate events have increased in China, and the frequency and intensity of drought disasters have shown a significant upward trend, which has a serious impact on agricultural production, food security and social life, and poses a potential threat to China's sustainable economic and social development. It is of great significance to study drought disaster prevention and mitigation. Based on participating in the investigation of drought disaster in Guangdong Province, this paper briefly discussed several shortcomings in drought disaster prevention and mitigation in Guangdong. On this basis, some suggestions were put forward to effectively improve the capacity building of drought disaster prevention and reduction in Guangdong, so as to truly realize the transformation from passive to active drought resistance, and strive to eliminate the adverse effects of drought disasters on production and life.
