Discussion on flood safety measures in Shandong section during operation period of south-to-north water diversion project

The south-to-north water diversion project is the largest water conservancy project in the world so far and aims to alleviate the shortage of water resources in the northern region of China. The main water supply goal of the first phase of the eastern line-Shandong section is to provide water use for urban and industry along the water diversion line and Jiaodong area, as well as improve the agricultural water supply conditions in Huaibei area, which also creates conditions for emergency water supply to Hebei and Tianjin. Measures such as implementing the responsibility system, improving the flood prevention plan, strengthening the reserves of flood prevention materials and technologies, implementing technical measures for flood prevention projects, carrying out flood prevention inspections and implementing the duty system are taken to realize the safe operation of the project in flood season.
