Abstract: Jianping County is extremely scarce in water resource；the water resource per capita is less than 400 m³，which lead to water supply and demand contradiction. In this paper，using records at the hydrological station in Yebaishou of Jianping County，the precipitation，runoff，water evaporation capacity，sediment and water resource at the Second Mangniu River are discussed；furthermore，hydrological evolution and water quality variation are analyzed. The study results provide a scientific basis for guiding water resource development and utilization in Jianping County.
