Abstract: Based on the analysis of the present situation of flood control and disaster reduction system in the inner-urban area of Chongqing, this paper analyzes in depth of the existing problems and vulnerabilities in the flood management. Focusing on the future development of Chongqing, and considering scientific management of multi-reservoirs with joint-dispatching technique in the upper reaches of Three Gorges Reservoir, the development demand of flood control and disaster mitigation system in urban of Chongqing are analyzed in detail; the flood vulnerability locations in the inner-urban area of Chongqing is proposed. This study provides technical support to Chongqing’s ongoing modern flood control and disaster mitigation system construction.
