Abstract: In the planning of the Central Business District (CBD) of waterfront district in Qingshan, the existing embankment is replaced with the ecological gentle slope, which transforms the monotonous and scenic-blocking flood controlling structure into the belt of connecting the city, the waterfront and Yangtze River. The design of the new embankment foundation allows more space for urban development; the sponge city concept is integrated into beach layout, which effectively enhances the capacity of flood control. The city landscape along the river and regional urban functions are improved.
