Abstract: In response to the severe midsummer drought that occurred in Liaoning Province from June to August 2020, this article analyzes the characteristics of the development of the drought situation, analyzes the key issues in the current practice of drought resistance work, including the need to improve drought prevention awareness, improve regulatory standards, supplement drought resistance engineering measures, supplement modern monitoring methods, and improve management systems, based on the response measures taken by various levels of drought resistance work organizations, proposes targeted improvement suggestions for the next step, such as improving relevant systems, planning prevention in advance, improving management systems, strengthening emergency management, and paying attention to the promotion of water-saving measures and the support of scientific research forces.
