Abstract:
In recent years, extreme weather events have become more frequent, stronger and wider. The extreme and abnormal nature of drought disasters are becoming more and more obvious, and the complexity and variability of drought disaster risks are becoming more and more prominent. In 2022, the Yangtze River Basin with relatively abundant water resources experienced the most severe meteorological and hydrological drought since records began in 1961, causing severe difficulties in agricultural production, urban and rural water supply, ecology, shipping, power generation and other aspects of the river basin. Based on the analysis of the characteristics of drought in the Yangtze River Basin in 2022, this paper puts forward some thoughts on the difficulties and problems existing in drought disaster reduction in the Yangtze River Basin, and some suggestions on the focus of future drought disaster reduction.
